“Texas Rose & Pronto”

by Sue Pendleton of Bluebeary Treasures

Texas Rose is crocheted with embroidery punch thread or equivalent, and a size 12 crochet hook. When made with the thread and hook size called for in the pattern, Rose is about 2-3/4 inches tall. However, you may change the size of the bear by varying the size of the thread or yarn and the hook that you use to crochet her. For example, you might use size 20 crochet thread with a size 10 hook. As long as you use the same size hook and thread for the bear and her clothes, the pattern will work out.

Texas Rose' head is cotter pin and disk-jointed, and the arms and legs are thread-jointed. The pattern tells you how to do the jointing.

Color photos of the completed bear and hobby horse are provided in the 17 page booklet.

The pattern includes instructions for the bear with boots, dress, vest, hat, panties, and Pronto the hobby horse. You can leave the boot tops off, and have Rose wearing little flats. You can also make the clothing in other colors, leave off the fringe, make the dress without the vest, etc. You'll have many options with this pattern.
